We have an opening for a Plant Chemical Process Superintendent at our Pittston, PA location.  The Plant  Chemical Process Superintendent will be  responsible for leading the  chemical process team and driving plant process optimization for the chemical and wastewater treatment area of a high volume, 24/7 manufacturing facility. 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Lead and develop team members and manage resources, activities, and vendors to assure efficient operations for the chemical process area.
  • Establish, document, monitor and improve maintenance procedures on equipment.
  • Use data to diagnose problem areas and lead team through development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Drive a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Recognize waste streams and minimizes waste generation; comply with safety procedures and environmental regulations when using, dispensing and handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Work effectively and safely in both a manufacturing and office environments. 
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, manufacturing process areas and the overall plant.

What are we looking for?

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience. 
  •  5 year(s) minimum of job related experience. 
  • Working knowledge of areas including, but not limited to:
    • Acid washers, hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, metal forming lubrication systems, wastewater treatment systems, and deionized water and water softening systems.
    • Production processes, product specifications and technology of equipment.
    • Generally accepted supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and negotiate with contractors and vendors.
  • Experience leading production using continuous improvement / Lean & six sigma tools and methodology.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment, preferably food/beverages /consumer packaged goods.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $78,400- $117,415  (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Other Compensation:   This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
