Primary Purpose of this position:
Our future success relies on our ability to attract, develop and retain top talent. Our Internship program is designed for students enrolled in an accredited Univeristy or College who are interested in developing on-the-job skills, experiences and insights that last a lifetime. Over the course of 10 weeks, you will have opportunities to learn about several areas of our manufacturing operations, network and collaborate with Ball leaders, get involved in challenging project work, and learn what it looks like to be a leader in the organization. If successful, full-time positions may be available in our Management Development Program.
As a plant-based intern, you will be exposed to key areas of Operations, Production, Quality, and Engineering.
What you will be responsible for:
- Manufacturing management interns will gain a hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes, daily operations and production standards:
- Comply with all established job safety practices and policies
- Engage in projects to analyze and optimize processes and to identify ways to improve safety, quality, spoilage, process improvement, efficiency, and/or productivity.
- Identify and develop recommendations to improve and/or innovate processes that result in improved performance, safety, best practices and/or cost savings.
- Gain exposure to plant leadership, and leading teams, in both production and support teams.
- Participate in centrally-hosted professional development activities.
- Participate in weekly check-in meetings with members of management.
- Participate in day-to-day plant operations.
- Attend full-cohort week in Colorado during the internship.
- Provide communication and dissemination of information between crew operations and departments as necessary.
- Initiate, review, master, and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for areas of responsibility.
- Participate and Report Out/Present in other projects/on other work assignments as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Currently pursuing and enrolled to complete a degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management or related discipline in an accredited University or College. Applicants must have completed at least one year of their degree prior to applying and have a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
- Analyzing situations and processes, exercise good judgment and perform assignments with limited direct supervision of manager/plant leaders
- Leadership abilities (e.g. active listening, effective communication, presentations, influence, collaboration) in course work and/or extra-curricular activities/other jobs
- Learning mindset and focus on continuous process improvement
- Results oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment
- Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) or equivalent
- Desire to pursue a potential career in manufacturing leadership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on the plant floor when applicable.
- This position is not eligible for visa candidates now or in the future.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Salary Range: $ 28.00 Hourly
