Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Achieve the production objectives of the plant within quality, safety, efficiency and budget requirements.
  • Ensure corrective action is taken, as required, for all equipment and operational problems.
  • Ensure adequate training, supervision and corrective feedback to the team members for whom they are responsible.
  • Supervise the process and personnel on their crew to ensure achievement of production targets & to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure quality standards and minimise spoilage.
  • Ensure standard of equipment setting and operating achieves the required specification.
  • Ensure employees and contractors at site follow up safety procedures. Promote safety culture.
  • Ensure the hygiene standards throughout the factory meet Company quality, technical and food hygiene and safety standards in order to meet customer expectations and Company goals.
  • Promote and maintain good industrial relations and housekeeping.
  • Investigate and report equipment and process defects promptly to enable corrective action to be taken.
  • Close teamwork with functional department, i.e. Engineering & Quality

What are we looking for? 

 

  • Proper education in Technical Discipline, preferably a degree
  • A manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process
  • Successful track record in man management in combination with proven record of task achievement
  • Problem solving & total quality skills
  • Experience in handling industrial relations issues
  • Basic understanding of modern lean manufacture technique - SMED, Kaizen 5S, Kanban, Structured Problem Solving, TPM/OEE, SPC, 6 Sigma etc;
  • Understanding of working to External Quality/Environmental Standards i.e. ISO 9001:2000 / 14001
  • A management style heavily orientated to training and coaching
  • Good computer skills – ability to manage via computerised data
  • Fluent Finnish and English language is a plus
