Position overview:

As the EHS Manager you provide advice and guidance to the plant management on health, safety and environmental (EHS) issues and the management of EHS risks to ensure the plant meets it legislative obligations and Ball requirements in a proactive manner. You will act as a central coordination for EHS activity including management systems, and you’re accountable for rolling out company-wide initiatives. 

Key responsibilities include:

  •  Identifying EHS training needs to facilitate suitable EHS training and development of all employees to enable safe operations 
  •  Responsible for maintaining and developing all systems to ensure that all staff, visitors, contractors, temps etc.  comply with relevant environmental and health and safety requirements
  •  To develop, progress and champion continuous improvement via the annual safety plan, EHS KPIs and objectives, Fire Safety and Property protection (FSPP) recommendations and lean enterprise activities
  •  Ensure plant management are aware and informed of legislative requirements and that they are translated into actions and included in the management system
  •  Ensure relevant corrective action is identified and assigned to EHS issues to facilitate resolution 
  •  Maintain and develop the site accreditation status with external bodies for EHS
  •  Liaising with HR for identification and management of health issues as they arise to ensure that staff is not subjected to unnecessary risks

 

  • What are we looking for?
  • Proven track record in a similar role within manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Technical education (B.Sc or M.Sc)
  • Working knowledge of environmental management and issues
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EHS legislative requirements, regulations etc.
  • Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO45001, ISO14001 etc. business management system standards
  • Fluent English (both written and verbal) and Finnish
