Position Summary
As a Project Engineer – Electrical, you will play a key role in the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of can‑making and associated process support equipment across Ball Packaging Europe. You will manage small to medium‑scale projects from concept through completion, taking full ownership of planning, budgeting, execution, and documentation while working closely with plant teams, contractors, and OEMs across multiple sites. This role involves extensive travel and close collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of engineering solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering activities for assigned projects from design through commissioning and handover.
- Define project scope in collaboration with Regional Directors, Plant Managers, and Plant Engineers.
- Design and approve electrical layouts and schematics using company‑approved tools (e.g. AutoCAD).
- Develop equipment specifications and project‑specific technical criteria in line with Ball Engineering Standards.
- Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and contractors to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and quality requirements.
- Support the selection of suitable components, systems, contractors, and suppliers for each project.
- Obtain quotations, manage costs, and ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
- Support permitting, approvals, and coordination with local authorities where required.
- Provide on‑site commissioning support, including testing, start‑up, optimization, and troubleshooting until design performance is achieved.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, installation, and ramp‑up activities across multiple sites.
- Ensure all drawings, documentation, and software are updated, archived, and handed over to plants upon project completion.
- Act as a regional electrical engineering resource, supporting continuous improvement, standardization, and best‑practice sharing across sites.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience delivering electrical engineering projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, layouts, schematics, and commissioning of industrial equipment.
- Experience working with OEMs, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and permit processes.
- Hands‑on approach during installation and commissioning phases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across plant, regional, and corporate levels.
- High flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80%).
- Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.
