This role involves shift work – 12 hour shifts, covering days, nights and weekend work

Salary - £56,897.90 per annum, increasing to £60,055.62 per annum after completion of the first phase of the training matrix, with a further increase to £63,220.58 per annum upon completion of the second phase of the training matrix
Primary purpose of the position:
To lead the operators to provide high quality cans, with lowest spoilage, at required production efficiencies, and providing cans in a safe low cost effective and environmentally sustainable highly efficient manner, both from the Tooling and Machinery.
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Control tooling and maintenance spend to budget, reducing working capital of tooling and spare parts
- Provide innovative, sustainable, cost saving plans
- Develop maintenance and overhaul procedures for Front End equipment, using maintenance Software, develop condition monitoring as part of maintenance procedures
- To plan and manage Front End and down gauging projects
- To manage tooling development/improvement projects in the Front End and Toolroom
- Support and implement SMED activities for improved efficiency
- Leading a team of 6-7 colleagues in roles as Engineers and Mechanics, conducting appraisals, interviews, training needs analysis etc
Position Requirement & competencies:
- Engineering qualifications
- A leader with 3 to 5 years experience within a manufacturing environment
- Team player
- Proactive, service minded approach
- Experience with hydraulic machines, experience within and understanding of tooling geometry and tool room experience is essential
- An understanding of theoretical tooling design and the can forming process is essential
