Position overview:

This role supports the Development Group in Light weighting, down gauging, new product development and investigation work. 

The work primarily consists of measuring & testing tooling and sample cans, equipment maintenance and calibration, failure analysis and reporting, development and purchasing  of test equipment. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Test tooling and sample cans to assist engineering group with projects such as downgauging / lightweighting
  • Investigative analysis and reporting of consumer complaints
  • Failure analysis and reporting
  • Maintenance and repair or equipment in quality laboratory
  • Analysis and reporting to support development projects within the sector
  • Maintenance of  a safe working environment within the laboratory and to comply with the safety guidelines set out
  • Development of test methods for specific tests
  • Supporting global engineering group projects / trials 

Experience required: 

  • Degree in mechanical engineering
  • Formal mechanical engineering experience, including report writing
  • Any experience with engineering / mechanical gauge measurement equipment 
  • Clear and concise communication via reports
  • Test and development background
  • Metallurgical knowledge desirable
  • Strong technical skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, CAD
