Position overview:
This role develops, deploys and sustains maintenance planning and execution standards across EMEA plants. It supports BOE Maintenance deployment, CMMS/SFOL standardisation, Global Maintenance Standards rollout, PM compliance reporting, RCA quality, maintenance-event planning and regional improvement initiatives. The role works closely with plant engineering teams, regional maintenance leadership, global maintenance/BOE teams and system support to improve maintenance discipline, equipment reliability, compliance, cost control and shared learning across the region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead maintenance planning and execution standardisation across EMEA, including annual plans, weekly planning routines and supporting major maintenance-event preparation from 12 weeks out through post-event review.
- Support BOE Maintenance deployment by maintaining regional progress visibility, reviewing plant evidence, coaching sites on templates and criteria, and supporting assessment readiness.
- Standardise and improve CMMS/SFOL use for procedures, orders, requests, interventions, reporting and traceability, including Global Maintenance Standards applicability, translation, release and scheduling.
- Prepare and update the monthly regional maintenance scorecard, validate plant commentary, monitor PM compliance, identify data-quality gaps and track corrective actions for focus plants.
- Coordinate breakdown review and RCA support, ensuring problem statements, root-cause logic, corrective actions, shared learning and implications for standards, spares, procedures or training are followed through.
- Promote best maintenance practices, lean tools, engineered solutions and consistent post-maintenance reviews to build and sustain a world-class maintenance programme.
- Support regional reliability and asset initiatives, including wellness-event tracking, rebuild and overhaul visibility, equipment-performance monitoring and targeted improvement activity.
- Provide practical plant support through check-ins, site visits, management summaries, tracker updates, action logs and clear escalation of unresolved risks.
- Apply technical criteria, history, supplier information, engineering studies and acquired knowledge to support equipment inspection, spare-parts optimisation and maintenance improvement decisions.
- Reduce spare-parts inventory through technical analysis while preventing stockouts during mechanical equipment interventions, using equipment history, supplier information, engineering studies, inspection findings and acquired knowledge to optimise spare-parts strategy and maintenance decisions.
- Provide cross-functional support across the regional maintenance team, maintaining continuity of key workstreams, meetings, stakeholder follow-up, reporting and escalation during team members’ holidays, travel or other planned absences.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process engineering, maintenance, process optimisation and spare-parts management.
- Practical experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, CMMS/SFOL, PM compliance, equipment inspection and maintenance-event execution.
- A university degree in Engineering-related discipline or NVQ Level 6 - preferred
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience in industrial process analysis, continuous improvement, structured problem solving and RCA.
- Strong data-analysis, stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to coach plant users, produce concise management summaries, identify risks and drive action closure across multiple sites.
- Willingness to travel - typically one week of travel per month, although there may be periods requiring travel 2-3 times per month.
