MANUFACTURING FORKLIFT TRUCK DRIVER

Base salary – starting salary is £32,500 per annum, increasing to £35,000 per annum upon completion of the first phase of the skills matrix and a further increase to £37,500 per annum upon full completion of the skills matrix 

 

This role involves shift work – 12 hour shifts, working days, nights and weekends

 

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The area of responsibility of this position includes:

  1. Ensure production does not stop by transporting production materials, substances, packaging, finished and semi-finished products in relation to production needs and in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
  2. Make sure that the handling vehicle supplied is in perfect working condition at all times, verifying, with the established frequency, the safe condition of the vehicle and filling in the appropriate paperwork.
  3. Carry out all the handling of materials and products in compliance with the times, storage locations, the needs of the production lines and the needs of the Operators requesting the material. Operate, power and supervise the machines and equipment in the area of competence in perfect conditions of use and operation.
  4. Participate in cleaning, general maintenance. Maintain efficiently all the instrumentation necessary for carrying out measurements, tests and controls and report any anomalies and failures.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To help maintain compliance with the FSSC22000 Standard. Observe the regulations on Occupational Safety, Hygiene, Environment and HACCP. Observe the Worker Code of Conduct.
  2. Perform operations that refer to assigned tasks to enable the smooth operation of production lines.
  3. Carry out the assigned checks as per the control plan required by the quality system.
  4. Complete an effective handover to the next Crew, at the end of their shift, to allow the smooth continuation of the production process.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

  1. Fork truck license is essential - B1 reach & counterbalance, and double handler attachment
  2. Accuracy and attention to detail
  3. Previous experience in high speed production and manufacturing
  4. English language skills – written, verbal and reading are essential as communication skills are essential
