Position overview:

 

The EHS Manager will provide advice and guidance to the plant management on health, safety and environmental (EHS) issues and the management of EHS risks to ensure the plant meets it legislative obligations and Ball requirements in a proactive manner. This role will act as a central coordination for EHS activity including management systems and be responsible for rolling out company-wide initiatives. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Translating the management system into actions required across the plant
  • Developing, maintaining and integrating EHS management system to ensure that all relevant company standards and regulatory requirements can be
  • Identifying EHS training needs to facilitate suitable EHS training and development of all employees to enable safe operations
  • Maintaining and developing all systems to ensure that all staff, visitors, contractors, temps etc.  comply with relevant environmental and health and safety requirements
  • Developing, progressing and champion continuous improvement via the annual safety plan, EHS KPIs and objectives, Fire Safety and Property protection (FSPP) recommendations and lean enterprise activities
  • Ensuring plant management are aware and informed of legislative requirements and that they are translated into actions and included in the management system
  • Timely accident and incident investigation with robust process to identify root cause, identification of corrective actions and reporting to all relevant parties
  • Maintaining and developing the site accreditation status with external bodies for EHS and Food safety management system
  • Actively seeking and following-up on personnel's ideas/suggestions for the process of environmental, fire and health and safety continuous improvement
  • Liaising with HR for identification and management of health issues as they arise to ensure that staff is not subjected to unnecessary risks
  • Coordinating and carrying out Health & safety, environmental and fire audits in compliance with the audit program

 
What are we looking for: 

 

  • Proven track record in a similar role within manufacturing/industrial environment
  • NEBOSH diploma
  • Working knowledge of environmental management and issues and comprehensive knowledge of EHS legislative requirements
  • Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO45001, ISO14001, food safety, business management system standards
  • Managing fire safety and property protection insurance risks
  • Fluent in English
