Position Overview:

An Electrical & Auxiliary Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of electrical and maintenance shop team members, managing the life cycle of all support equipment and electrical resources, including execution of maintenance, process improvement and contracting with outside services. This role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of all electrical systems and support equipment within the plant. This role leads a team of electricians and maintenance specialists that focuses on maximizing production throughput, minimizing downtime, and sustaining high equipment availability by leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and implementing proactive improvement strategies. The supervisor drives operational excellence while ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal resource utilization across the plant.

 

Competencies:

Electrical & Mechanical Expertise: Strong knowledge of plant electrical systems, auxiliary equipment, controls, and associated mechanical systems.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Skill in planning and executing maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.

Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and reduce costs.

Team Leadership & Development: Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing maintenance and electrical team.

Safety & Compliance: Ensures adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards.

Communication & Collaboration: Clear communication with team members, cross-functional departments, and external contractors.

Decision-Making & Resource Management: Makes informed decisions under pressure and allocates personnel, tools, and materials efficiently.

 

Skills: 

  • Technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, support equipment, conveyance systems
  • Working knowledge of automation & controls
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning or work order systems
  • Ability to lead and supervise electrical and mechanical maintenance teams
  • Problem solving, trouble shooting and process improvement skills
  • Project management support for plant capital improvements, line speed alterations, conveyance changes and safety initiatives

 

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain all electrical systems and auxiliary equipment to ensure high uptime, production throughput, and minimal downtime.
  • Lead, coach, and develop electricians and maintenance specialists, ensuring a skilled, high-performing team.
  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and food safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team to drive operational excellence.
  • Apply safety, environmental, and quality standards in all activities.
  • Analyze performance metrics, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and drive value creation.
  • Manage maintenance costs effectively while optimizing resources and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams, management, and contractors.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving, adaptability, and results-oriented mindset.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Job related experience for 4 year(s) minimum in an industrial environment with a focus on electrical, mechanical or maintenance role. 
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $85,100 - $118,760 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
