Position overview:
As the Manufacturing Excellence Specialist, you’re a key member of our Operational Excellence community, reporting to the Plant Manager. You will contribute to the success of Ball by driving Continuous Improvement activities and leading the implementation and sustainment of Ball’s Operational Excellence (BOE/BME) pillars across the plant.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams on all shifts to embed standardized processes, improve site performance, and strengthen capability through coaching and training. Your work will directly support improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity — helping our plant achieve operational excellence and long-term business success.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Deploy and sustain Manufacturing Excellence and Lean standards at plant level
- Assess current plant performance against global standards and define improvement roadmaps
- Lead cross‑functional continuous improvement and cost‑reduction projects
- Support the delivery of AOP targets and Fuel for Growth savings initiatives
- Facilitate Lean workshops and structured problem‑solving activities
- Coach and support plant teams and leadership in continuous improvement methodologies
- Analyze operational and production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Promote standardization, best practices, and knowledge sharing across the site
- Act as a change agent to drive cultural transformation and employee engagement
- Manage and prioritize a pipeline of improvement and capital projects
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Excellence, Lean, or Continuous Improvement roles
- Solid knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g. 5S, VSM, SMED, PDCA, TPM)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong project management and change management experience
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
- Coaching mindset with experience influencing without direct authority
- Proactive, structured, and results‑driven approach
