Position overview

 

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, maintaining up‑to‑date AP/AR records, and supporting reporting and reconciliation activities. You will work closely with customers-suppliers, sales-purchasing, and finance teams to resolve billing issues, monitor outstanding balances, and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies. This role is key to supporting cash flow accuracy, customer satisfaction, and the overall efficiency of the finance function.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform customer/supplier invoices accurately and on time, ensuring alignment with contracts, purchase orders, and delivery documentation
  • Reconciling AR/AP balances with the general ledger and resolving discrepancies or overdue balances in coordination with customers
  • Monitoring customer accounts, following up on overdue payments, and preparing aging reports for internal stakeholders
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual AR/AP reporting activities, including preparation of documentation for auditors
  • Managing reporting obligations to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and ensuring timely and compliant submissions
  • Preparing and submitting AP/AR‑related reports to the Central Bank of Turkey (TCMB) in line with foreign exchange and regulatory requirements
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to invoices and payments, resolving disputes promptly
  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements, including SOX where applicable
  • Collaborating with sales, customer service, and finance teams to streamline invoicing, collections, and month‑end close activities

 

What we’re looking for?

 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience in accounts receivable, billing, or financial administration (AR experience in an international environment is an advantage)
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, collections, and reconciliation processes
  • Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with data, financial documentation, and ERP/finance systems; knowledge of MS Office is required
  • Fluency in English is required, additional languages are an advantage
