Position overview:

The Field Technical Support Engineer is a customer-facing role responsible for providing a comprehensive technical service and support to allocated customers and the Sales and Manufacturing functions connected with those customers. Part of your responsibilities will include co-ordinating and implementing filling line trials on customer sites to evaluate Ball products and components, whilst maintaining Customer-focused working relationships throughout the region.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the full end-to-end process in regards to Quality, Performance and Qualifications of Ball products, visiting the customer as and when required
  • Support of Customer projects or queries, evaluation and inspection of customer products and production areas, recording of activities and any results as well as making recommendations etc.
  • Scheduled audit of customer filling facilities/warehouses for problems which may result in reduction in quality of the process and filled product, identify areas of enhancement and advise customer of findings/recommendations on improvements, supplying costing for work involved, when required.
  • Assist in set up of customer equipment and train customer on GMP and issue prevention
  • Coordinate and supervise any new line trials and tests on customer premises
  • Review any new/modified customer specification with internal Ball Manufacturing teams and liaise with customer in order to provide a mutually acceptable specification

 

Experience and skills required:

  • Previous technical or quality-related experience in metal industry, ideally can-making
  • Excellent eye for quality and ability to make suggestion for improvements
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams in multiple countries
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
  • Customer service and customer experience focus
  • Knowledge of quality systems/tools and Lean Six Sigma is an advantage
  • Fluency in Swedish and English
