Position overview:
The Manufacturing Excellence Specialist position is the catalyst for plant-level standardization in the deployment of the management system and continuous improvement activity throughout the plant to deliver AOP and stretch targets. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for BME (Ball Manufacturing Excellence) self-assessment and improvement plan execution, embedding standards in Operations' way of working as per BOE (Ball Operational Excellence) program.
  • Develop and maintain a Plant Manufacturing Excellence Master plan that supports the delivery of the short and long-term objectives of the business.
  • Lead business-critical cross-functional projects that either enable or directly deliver FFG (Fuel for growth) savings in the respective cost categories, utilizing specified minimum project requirements.
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement activities by using Lean tools and techniques (VSM, 5S, SMED, PDCA, TPM, Problem Solving Techniques, ...) to improve & sustain performance
  • Facilitate policy deployment process (Hoshin Kanri) to identify plant vision, mission, goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives for the next three-year period together with the Plant Management Team.
  •  Develop project management & cost optimization governance in the plant, train and support project leaders to progress the projects by considering minimum project requirements.
  • Lead problem-solving projects by training, coaching, and facilitating teams to perform effective root cause analysis methods.
  • Examine data sets from Manufacturing Execution & Quality Systems in order to find trends and draw conclusions about the information they contain by using statistical tools.
  • Manage plant better practices program, liaise with the company's continuous improvement network for both benchmarking internal and external best practices, and roll out in the plant
  • Prepare plant lean training program for cross-functional team members, train plant teams on Lean principles and tools, and follow-up training program together with the Regional Manufacturing Excellence Manager.

 

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in Science, Engineering or Business
  •  At least 3 years of relevant experience with a manufacturing company known for its maturity in lean management (automotive, FMCG…) (Essential)
  • Good understanding of LEAN tools and system, demonstrated portfolio of leading lean project management at least 3 years (Essential)
  • Good understanding of statistical process control and data analysis, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (Essential)
  • Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, constantly seeing to understand how to engage and involve different individuals
  • Pragmatic and shop floor oriented
  • Able to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Acts with humility and proactively collaborates with others to solve big, cross-functional issues
  • Always looking to challenge the ways things are done and helps others find new ideas to improve performance
  • Able to build trust between, and align, disparate groups across and beyond the organization
  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization
  • Have a “can do” attitude and be able to do what it takes to succeed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of English language
