Position summary:
You are responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations during the assigned shift. The position oversees production performance, quality execution, employee coordination, and adherence to operational standards.
The Shift Manager ensures continuity of workflow, resolves issues impacting production or quality, leads corrective and preventive actions, and supports the development of personnel. The role also safeguards compliance with food safety, environmental, and occupational health systems while driving continuous improvement in processes, equipment performance, and operational discipline.
Your responsibilities include:
- Take full responsibility for the production process and achievement of KPI’s.
- Ensure material and tooling supply, job distribution and task arrangement within the shift.
- Coordinate the first production run of any new design introduced to the plant.
- Develop a working understanding of all production equipment in order to detect potential problems that may hinder production and ensure timely resolution.
- Exchange information on production problems and modifications within and between shifts.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for internally detected non‑conformances (HFI) and externally detected non‑conformances (customer complaints) to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure daily preventive and protective maintenance, and readiness for known product modifications.
- Control the availability, condition, and correct use of protective equipment by personnel.
- Delegate responsibilities to production employees and hold them accountable.
- Conduct Performance Reviews, oversee operator professional development and verify personnel training.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in a people-leading role within high-speed manufacturing
- Ability to effectively create, develop, and maintain a strong teamwork environment.
- Skills in motivating and leading teams, coaching and counselling employees, resolving conflicts, facilitating group work, supporting training needs, and actively listening.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction across all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of the mechanics, operation, and functional behavior of production equipment to support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and decision-making.
- Good understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practises
