Position summary:

 

As EHS Manager, you are responsible for leading Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Fire Safety and Property Protection (FSPP), and sustainability programs at the plant. You ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace while protecting the environment and company assets.

The role partners closely with Plant Leadership and Regional EHS to proactively manage risks, embed a strong safety culture, and deliver Ball Operational Excellence (BOE), EHS, and sustainability objectives.

 

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead and deliver plant EHS, FSPP and sustainability strategy in line with Ball BOE and regional requirements
  • Drive a strong safety culture through Behaviour‑Based Safety, near‑miss and hazard reporting, and shopfloor engagement
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS legislation, permits, and insurance requirements
  • Manage hazard identification, risk assessments, and environmental impacts (waste, energy, emissions, water)
  • Oversee EHS incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems and certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.)
  • Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities, auditors, insurers, and internal EHS stakeholders
  • Coordinate EHS activities across Production, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and Facilities

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Relevant EHS qualification or Engineering degree with strong EHS management experience
  • 5+ years of EHS experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Solid knowledge of EHS legislation, behavioural safety, and fire/property protection risks
  • Experience with ISO‑based management systems and audits
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence leaders and frontline teams
  • Fluency in English and strong MS Office skills
