Position summary:

You are responsible for leading the plant mechanical team (Shift Mechanical Engineers, Toolroom, Utility team, Workshop Team, Process Engineers) in all the maintenance and process activities in the plant to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of high speed can making Lines and ancillaries. You will be the key person driving operational excellence programs and size changes in the plant, and also be responsible for all the mechanical safety, lean events, capital projects, energy saving, and EIP.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive the Preventive Maintenance program (periodical, monthly & daily) for the plant process equipment and auxiliaries. Communicate and implement the maintenance program with production and engineering departments’ personnel. Track Monthly compliance.
  • Daily Planning and scheduling of maintenance activities and work plan for the department. Attend morning meetings, listen to key stakeholders and plan daily activities and remedial actions.
  • Plan for shutdowns incl. securing spare parts for maintenance in advance. Execute shutdown maintenance and check effectiveness of shutdowns post startup.
  • Review the latest version of spare parts and upgrade the equipment under responsibility according with prior approval. Facilitate contact and liaison with foreign suppliers to develop all the tooling/spare parts used for Plant. Maintain Inventory of all spare parts used in plant in co-ordination with spareparts stores manager.
  • Interpret machine manuals and drawings and utilize on daily basis for maintenance planning and spareparts planning.
  • Lead the process team for process and maintenance issues. Use Lean tools such as fish bone, why-why analysis on daily basis to analyze the process and equipment issues. Liaison with Sector engineering team to overcome process issues. Communication with machine suppliers for chronic issues in machine, give required information and resolve issues on timely manner.
  • Support engineering manager in preparing budget for capital projects and maintenance expense. Execution of all plant projects from the start to completion. Identify and recommend to Manager Engineer AMCs for various equipment and services.
  • Controlling all maintenance costs within agreed budget costs and strive to meet the maintenance cost. Initiate and implement initiatives to reduce maintenance Expenses.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement actions to reduce energy consumption.
  • Lead team in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors. Provide training and support to new joiners and existing employees on various engineering functions and process.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 7+ years relevant experience in maintenance in high-speed manufacturing with sound maintenance management practices.
  • Experience in mechanical power presses, hydraulic equipment maintenance, printing press, handling LPG, maintenance of gas-fired ovens, boilers etc.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD - Mechanical.
  • Experienced in TPM implementation in process industry. Good understanding of other modern lean manufacture technique - SMED, Kaizen 5S, Structured Problem Solving, Six Sigma.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based upon the plant requirements and KPI’s. Good planning skills, coordination skill and follow-up skill
  • Comfortable communication in written and spoken English
