Position Overview:

As a Plant Chemical Engineer, you play a critical role within the team and report to the designated manager. Your responsibility is to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of chemical and wastewater treatment processes in a continuous manufacturing environment. You are responsible for driving process standardization, optimization, quality control, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Your work is essential in maximizing equipment performance, supporting production goals, maintaining product quality, and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence across the plant.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and safe operation of all plant systems.
• Maintain long-term technical performance of chemical, washer, and wastewater systems.
• Drive process standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee quality control checks and ensure compliance with product quality standards.
• Manage chemical storage, ensuring proper handling and accurate inventory levels.
• Support maintenance activities, including washer system cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Calibrate and clean wastewater treatment probes to ensure accurate monitoring.
• Identify mechanical defects and escalate unrepairable issues to appropriate leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment across all plant areas.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to optimize equipment and processes.

Who are we looking for?

• Relevant higher education or technical qualification in chemical or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment with a focus on chemical processes.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process control in continuous manufacturing environments.
• Experience with wastewater treatment (WWT), water treatment, and washer systems.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of quality control systems and product specifications.
• Experience in chemical inventory management and storage (e.g., IBCs, drums).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Work Environment: This role requires on-site presence at our Waterford plant.
Hiring Range: 8.850.000 – 12.390.000 HUF gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range.
