Position overview:

The Supply Planner is a customer-facing position, which is crucial to the end-to-end service to our key customers. Key responsibilities include order processing (SAP), production planning, inventory management and co-ordinating deliveries with our 3PL. You will be analytical and comfortable working under pressure, as you process customer forecasts, check stock availability, plan for production where required and then fulfil the final orders with our 3PL. As a central player for your customer, you will also be pivotal in the connection of cross-functional teams. You will work closely with commercial, operations and quality as you strive to provide excellent customer service.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Processing orders, stock maintenance and reporting in SAP system.
  • Production planning to meet customer demands and Ball business plan.
  • Management of day to day customer relationship.
  • Delivery management with Logistics provider and customer specific logistics analysis
  • Sales reporting.
  • Design processing with Graphics Controller.
  • Customer sales forecasting and analysis.
  • Customer visits & relationship management, development of customer initiatives.
  • Manage of stock sheet: reporting on SNMI and actively trying to reduce that number
  • Support to Technical Services as and when required – link to CTS.
  • Assist sales and finance with customer credit balances to meet KPI requirements and speedy resolution to invoice/credit queries – link to Finance.
  • Liaison with plant management on operational, technical and commercial issues – link to operations.
  • Provide holiday cover as and when required
  • Master data management for your customer portfolio


Experience required:


  • Ideally degree educated in a business field (not essential)
  • Confident working with large data sets and spreadsheets 
  • Understanding of basic Excel formulas. 
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder. 
  • Comfortable working at pace and under pressure
  • Previous experience in a sales, planning or customer orientated team. 
  • FMCG working knowledge
  • SAP knowledge – desirable
