The Quality Manager ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality cans, bottles and ends in a continuous operation manufacturing environment. This role provides leadership and mentorship to a quality team across all shifts, fostering accountability, engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement. The Quality Manager drives standardization, problem-solving, and process optimization while partnering closely with production to meet customer quality requirements. The role is responsible for managing customer specifications, investigating complaints, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Strategic alignment of plant quality goals with broader business objectives, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and clear, transparent communication with employees, management, and stakeholders are critical to success.

Skills

Quality and Food Safety System Management – ISO and food safety systems management, HACCP/HARA implementation, audits, SOP creation, and compliance tracking.
Data Analysis and Reporting – Preparing quality and food safety reports, daily/weekly/monthly/annual metrics, and HFI reports.
Customer Relationship Management – Managing quality and food safety-related claims, visiting customers, and resolving complaints.
Supplier and Vendor Coordination – Evaluating supplier quality and food safety, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with product standards.
Training and Development – Training personnel in quality, food safety procedures, equipment use, and ISO/BRCGS standards.
Inspection and Verification – Checking incoming materials, production, ink mixers, HFI coils, and pallets for compliance with quality and food safety standards.
Documentation and Recordkeeping – Maintaining inspection records, audit documentation, and quality/food safety system logs.
Equipment Oversight – Ensuring timely calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment and quality instruments.

Accountabilities

Responsible for all quality and food safety issues and control measures across the plant.
Prepare and submit combined quality and food safety reports to management and regional quality team.
Collaborate with other departments to improve product quality and ensure food safety compliance.
Ensure effective operation of the ISO Quality Management System and food safety programs; apply ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and relevant food safety standards.
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the BOE Quality pillar, including food safety components.
Initiate, review, master, and enforce all SOPs and working instructions for quality and food safety.
Conduct audits of the plant, internal and external warehouses to ensure quality and food safety compliance.
Handle customer claims related to quality and food safety, implementing corrective actions.
Maintain records of incoming material checks, inspections, and HFI reports.
Manage and lead the quality department, ensuring effective work relationships and a positive employee relations climate.
Communicate quality and food safety issues and solutions with production and other departments.
Maintain working relationships with customers to resolve quality and food safety concerns.
Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure product and food safety compliance.
Oversee new label design, coating/materials trials and ensure production meets customer and food safety standards.
Train personnel on quality control, food safety procedures, equipment use, and ISO/BRCGS standards.
Responsible for timely contracts and maintenance of measurement and quality/food safety equipment.

Qualifications 

• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience ·
• Job related experience for 5 year(s) minimum in an industrial environment with a focus on quality assurance and customer interaction
• Experience managing teams in a continuous operation industrial environment
• Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred.
