Position summary:
The Plant Manager manages operational processes from start to finish in assigned plant. They work with their plant leadership teams to manage operations in the plant and achieve assigned production and operational goals according to specified plant targets and drives culture and strategy to increase productivity and engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the overall safety performance in the plant by ensuring plant focus on programs, procedures and KPI’s in accordance with Ball safety programs, managing EHS behaviours in the plant.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to manufacturing operations.
- Manage and coordinate all plant operations to meet production goals, ensuring timely and cost-effective manufacturing of products. Oversee equipment maintenance schedules to prevent downtime and ensure optimal production efficiency.
- Manage implementation and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet industry standards and customer specifications delivering the plant quality KPIs.
- Leads plant team to deliver the plant KPIs, collaborate effectively with central support functions within Ball matrix organization.
- Align with Manufacturing Cost Controller/Finance to build and manage the plant budget, manufacturing cost and CapEx plan.
- Implement and maintain culture of Ball operational excellence and continuous improvement, manage delivering of standard reporting for all areas in timely manner.
- Responsible for the selection, training, growth and development of shift and staff personnel to attain organizational goals.
- Supports positive employee relations in the plant, including with local/national union leadership, leading and managing union negotiations in line with the aligned strategy, if applicable. Establish a high performance culture and healthy and productive working relationships with workforce.
- Collaborate with other plants in benchmarking and optimization in order to deliver and exceed company objectives.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with external key stakeholders, support positive company branding in the area.May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas.
What are we looking for?
- Min 6 years of manufacturing leadership experience (high speed manufacturing/packaging preferred) in an international company
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
- Highly matrixed/high growth organization experience
- Strong communication skills across all organisational levels
- Knowledge of budgetary processes and capital expenditure projects
- Working knowledge of legislation regarding H&S and Environmental policies
- Experience working in unionised environment is beneficial
- Analytical skills and ability to drive outcomes.
- Fluent English
