Project Engineer

Primary purpose of the position: 

You will be responsible for providing electrical engineering for capital projects, and process support in can and end plants as directed. For larger projects, you will work as directed by the appointed Project Manager, and generally providing all electrical engineering requirements needed by the project team and associated internal and external partners and stakeholders. For smaller projects, you will be acting as the Project Manager, taking responsibility for the management of the project from design conception through to installation and commissioning equipment/systems installed – on time, in budget and in accordance with manufacturing performance objectives. Part of your duties will also be regular reporting on the progress and financial status of the project using the standard Ball project tools.
 

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide electrical engineering expertise and support for preparation and execution of capital projects and process support activities.
• For smaller projects, to act as the Project Manager, controlling all the budget, timetable and quality aspects of the project, and directing the project team and associated functions.
• For larger projects, to report to the Project Manager for all Electrical Engineering aspects of the project.
• Communications with all stakeholders.
• Observance of all EH&S requirements.

Knowledge and experience required:

• HND (or equivalent) in an electrical engineering discipline.
• Working as an electrical engineer in a project environment for a manufacturer of fast moving consumer goods.
• Skilled use of all MS Office software, including MS Project (or other scheduling programme) to control project timetable.
• PLC programming experience
• Good diagnostic skills when dealing with technical electrical problems.
