Position overview:
As the Customer Technical Service Engineer, you’re a key member of the Customer Technical Service (CTS) Team, reporting to the Country CTS Manager. You will contribute to the success of Ball by delivering technical support to our valued customers, helping ensure our products perform at their best during filling and packaging. You’ll also support our Sales and Manufacturing teams by coordinating trials and resolving quality issues quickly and professionally.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Supporting assigned customers by managing quality concerns and providing on-site troubleshooting when needed
- Investigating customer complaints, coordinating with Ball manufacturing plants, and communicating findings and solutions
- Making decisions on handling filled or empty stock connected to product issues, including sorting or disposal when required
- Working directly with customer machine operators and engineers to identify root causes of technical problems
- Organising product trials on customer filling lines to test new or modified cans, ends, or customer products
- Ensuring the correct test materials are available, and supporting the filling process on-site where needed
- Managing shipment and lab evaluation of filled samples and advising customers on outcomes and next steps
- Auditing customer filling lines and warehouses to spot potential quality risks and recommend improvements
- Helping with customer equipment setup and training staff on best practices, including can handling and sealing processes
- Collaborating with the CTS Manager to define the trial needs and coordinate with Ball Manufacturing to align product specifications accordingly.
What are we looking for?
- A degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Prior experience in high speed manufacturing environment, and working directly with customers in a technical support role
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—when working with internal teams and customers
- A customer-first mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good presentation skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly
- Comfortable working hands-on in manufacturing and production environments
- Fluency in written and spoken English
