Position overview:
Coatings Technican will be responsible for supporting manufacturing facilities and Head Office functions on all aspects of internal and external can and end coatings and applications. In addition, they will be supporting the roll out of the coatings & inks strategy and projects across EMEA region, and will also maintain contact with coating suppliers for new material approvals, developments and problem solving.
This role requires 80% of traveling across the EMEA Region
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor quality control, report plant quality performance, report customer and supplier complaints, share information on coatings & inks situation.
- Full understanding of QC checks and frequencies within the manufacturing locations and required to report deviations from these if observed, to the EMEA Quality Managers.
- Support savings on coatings & inks in plants & at customers.
- Provide support for New Product Development on new and added value coatings.
- Lead and/or support coating related quality improvement programmes or Lean projects in Head Office or manufacturing facilities.
- Provide project and plant support for major projects.
- Ensure compliance with all manufacturing facility site H&S and Environmental requirements.
- Ensure Ball’s reputation as a quality supplier is maintained by using vigilance when attending manufacturing and/ or supplier facilities with regard to product and packaging defects.
What are we looking for?
- Technical background
- Working knowledge of operation of all test, measurement and inspection equipment used in the QA function within the manufacturing locations
- Aware of regulatory requirements of coatings and testing necessary for approval
- Full understanding of qualification process for new coating materials
- Analytical skills, sound numerical and statistical background and good problem solving skills
- Computer literate and able to work alone and under own initiative
- Fluency in English language, in both oral and written form
- Ability to travel extensively across EMEA region
