Position overview:

Working within a small team of Laboratory personnel based in the European lab at Kettering. The Role of the Laboratory Assistant is part of the team which supports Customer Quality, Quality & Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing Operations in the analysis of customer products for packaging into Ball cans & ends, the role also supports the investigation of customer complaints, production issues and customer qualification of new manufacturing plants and new materials. The role also involves assisting Group Coatings with qualification of New materials which includes current projects and the implementation of long term projects for Sales, Quality, CTS and Customer qualifications.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working within the Lab to ensure smooth transition of products and samples into the respective sections within the Lab.
• Implementation of test procedures related to parts of the product analysis and pack testing process.
• Implementation of test methods to support the Lab.
• Working as part of the team to improve efficiency within the Laboratory processes.
• Receiving of goods and samples coming into the European Lab
• Organise product samples & Customer complaints for the analysis / investigations required. 
• Product compatibility & Pack test organisation, control and sampling.
• Supporting qualification of materials during the R&D and Qualification phase.
• Maintenance of  a safe working environment within the laboratory and to comply with the safety guidelines set out.
• Development of test methods for specific tests.
• Supporting external departments with preparation of projects / trials.
• Maintaining computer system databases   
• Adherence to Laboratory rules and regulations

What are we looking for?

• At least O Levels – Maths, English, Science subject 
• Good computer skills including MS Office – Word & Excel
• Previous experience with Laboratory Quality Systems
• Experience with laboratory equipment and writing reports.

• 5S awareness 
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English (Spoken & Written)
