Position overview:


As the Graphics Operator, you’re a key member of the Kettering Team. You will contribute to the success of Ball by ensuring that the plant Graphics activities are organised and implemented in the plant and that “Drive for Improvement” is carried out in the Graphics process.
 
Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensure safe working practices are always adhered to and good housekeeping and safety awareness is continuously improved in the work area
  • Assessment of all new & existing designs, liaising with Central Graphics to ensure pre-press print package is achievable and can be produced.
  • Liaise with ink suppliers to validate correct material for designs pre-production  
  • Produce & approve new master & plant standards as required for new and existing jobs.
  • Liaise with other departments for all on site visits – includes customer On site or Virtual approval process
  • Manage different kinds of audits.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company
  • Make educated decisions during a production run on the route to follow when the team runs into an issue that cannot be resolved by the deco team lead or printer operator
  • In charge of arranging efficient pre-production design meetings for new designs for the plant with the relevant stakeholders in the team responsible for the label change and design set up on the decorator
  • Organisation of review meetings in case of issues during a label change, involving the relevant team members to analyse, learn and improve
  • Inspire all members on the deco team to continuously strive to perfection on print, improving the quality standards
  • Identify and promote opportunities for improvement in the deco area and engage with the relevant plant teams to implement change
  • Help drive innovation in print process to achieve higher efficiency as well as new potential for the customer to differentiate.
  • Leading on continuous improvement through material usage reduction

 

Experience and skills required:

 

  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards
  • Manufacturing experience in a fast moving environment
  • SAP, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good prioritisation skills and communication skills.
  • Flexible and a team player.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
