Position overview:

The Front End/Back End Team Leader is responsible for the day to day leadership of an effective and committed team. Focused on maintaining maximum safety, quality, and production standards.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the team always follow the Safety Standards and Rules , operating machines with care and follow the proper use of working clothes, footwear and personal protective equipment.
  • Complete Safety Checks and address any issues with the team.
  • Set and communicate to the team the Area Plan of Activities for the day.
  • Monitor and communicate progress and support the team to deliver the targets for the day.
  • Communicate issues to the team – including any quality, safety and customer related issues, risks and problems.
  • Check the Quality of Products leaving the process area, communicate to the team any issues and ensure quality defects are contained and resolved.
  • Prepare Production Reports and keep the area Information Boards up to date,
  • Lead the team in Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support training and keep training records up to date.
  • Support the writing and training of area procedures and work instructions.
  • Lead the team in setting and meeting high standards for daily housekeeping and tools/spares organisation
  • People management responsibilities, including performance management, engagement activities, basic HR processes, return to work meetings, etc.
  • Leading team briefs and communicating daily and monthly KPIs to the teams.


Experience and skills required:

  • Previous experience of leading people in a manufacturing/industrial/warehouse industry
  • Practical problem solver.
  • Able to interpret numerical data.
  • Attention to detail, including the ability to spot defects/mistakes.
  • Ability to follow and set up new processes.
  • Sound communication skills, ability to clearly explain processes.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
