Primary purpose of the position:

This role will be responsible of accounts department of Benepack Belgium in Genk.

Key responsibilites include:

• Lead the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Monitoring and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles. Ensure compliance with company’s standards.
• Manages a team of accountants to assume responsibility for AP and AR as well as general ledger. Work with GBS resources as necessary.
• Participate in cash flow preparation and ensure proper working capital management.
• Local balance sheet ownership, including monitoring of debtors and creditors, as well as cash flow management (ensuring supplier payments and customer collections are executed in line with local legislation, Company policies, and contractual obligations).
• Participate in Month end closing bookings, ensure compliance with deadlines and accuracy of financial data.
• Monitor and supervise month end activities of AP accountant.
• Work with advisors and central tax resource as necessary, prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports. Handle tax audits.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly VAT returns, handles reconciliations with tax consultant as well as preparations for tax audits.
• Follow-up latest updates of tax laws and regulations and ensure effective implementation to save the company from any risks.
• Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports. - Sharing with an external office
• Play a vital role during internal and external audits as well as tax audits including preparations of internal/external audit requirements and reconciliations for related areas.
• Ensure accuracy annual statutory reporting in accordance with local GAAP, quarterly and annual reporting as per US-GAAP under accounting manager supervision.
•  Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls requirements, including monthly/quarterly/annual assessments and submissions regarding her/his related areas.
• Monitoring of all relevant changes in local laws and tax regulations.
• Statistical reporting for local legal entities.
  
  

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance/Administration.
• 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Leadership experience.
• Working knowlegde of Microsoft Office and ERP system (SAP preferable).
• Working knowlegde of all Tax inspection requirements. 
• Manufacturing background preffered.
• Fluent English and Dutch.
