Primary Purpose of this Position: 

The Manager, Commercial Foodservice will drive sales through new and existing customers. The position will be accountable for building the foodservice customer base and development of specific customers and/or region designated by the Director, Commercial Foodservice. The manager will be responsible for building customer relationship, securing new business, expanding business with existing customers to grow the foodservice business. 

 

What will you be responsible for? 

  • Owns and directly manages assigned channel or region of new customer opportunities and existing customer portfolio and relationships; proactively develops new relationships, provides value proposition for a win-win position with customers both new and existing.

  • Owns delivering sales results to meet company operating plan targets. Develops demand forecast establishing expectations and planning for, and risks to, meeting annual operating plan.

  • Plans, negotiates, and finalizes customer contracts and renewals, including strategy and pricing.

  • Contributes to commercial strategy and responsible for execution; leads or supports commercial initiatives with functional experts, and identifies and plans opportunities for Customer execution and growth.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with internal cross-functional colleagues, including Strategy & Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Procurement and others to deliver customer strategy and internal projects.

  • Manages and serves as escalation of day-to-day business activities with customers, including supply disruptions, obsolete inventory, logistics/freight issues, negotiation of large claims (Quality or Service).

  • Responsible for creating opportunity pipeline in designated channel and/or region.

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level education or work-related experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in professional commercial and sales work with accountability of customers 

  • Customer Relations:  

    • Developing strong opportunity pipeline and growing business.

    • Developing value propositions for customers, tailored to the opportunity.

    • Developing strong customer relationships and deep knowledge of customer’s business.

    • Negotiation and execution of contracted business.

    • Removing barriers to deliver on customers and being resourceful to find solutions.

  • Knowledge of: CPG sales operations and foodservice industry.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This position is eligible to be remote; however if based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). 
  • Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $93,100 – $142,140 USD. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. 
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
