Position overview:

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring that goods and services are procured as necessary to ensure supply for the plant and will also be heavily involved in PO lifecycle management activities, such as PO conversion, PO troubleshooting, reporting for expiring or aged POs, PO administration, clean up, and close out. 

The Buyer will also serve as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for questions and issues relating to the buying processes for the stakeholders in their location and will also be tasked with monitoring and managing supply and inventory for the plant and serving as the central buyer for items needed by plant personnel (PPE, Indirects, etc.).  They will also play an important role by participating in the supplier management process by assessing and evaluating suppliers, contributing to performance reviews, and working with suppliers on a daily basis to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues and expedite orders when necessary.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Ensure that goods and services are procured for the plant.
• Monitor and manage supply and inventory for the plant
• Serve as the central buyer for items needed by plant personnel (PPE, Indirects, etc.)
• Review incoming purchase requisitions to ensure that the necessary documentation, specifications, attachments, etc., are included and conduct and necessary follow ups. 
• Where necessary, complete and enter purchase orders into ERP systems and ensure that the process for approval is complete and accurate. 
• Reporting for expiring or aged POs, PO administration, clean up, and close out. 
• Serve as a resource and SME for questions/issues relating to buying processes for stakeholders in their location
• Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews.
• Work with suppliers to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues and expedite orders when necessary.
• Where necessary, is responsible for ensuring that a new startup plant has the necessary goods and services procured to ensure a timely and trouble-free startup.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement/buying experience.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations and delivering commercial outcomes.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand cost drivers.
• Manufacturing industry background.
• Proactive mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
• Strong personality and ability to challenge stakeholders when required.
• Fluent in both English and Danish.
• International experience would be an advantage.
