Position overview:

 

As the Manufacturing Excellence Specialist, you’re a key member of the Ball Operational Excellence (BOE)  Team, reporting to the Plant manager. You will contribute to the success of Ball by acting as a a catalyst for plant-level standardization and continuous improvement, driving operational excellence and embedding Lean practices across the site. You will partner closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and sustain improvement initiatives that deliver efficiencies, cost savings, and long-term value.

 

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Leading the deployment of the Business Management (BM) Pillar self-assessment and improvement plans in line with BOE standards
  • Developing and maintaining the Plant Manufacturing Excellence Master Plan to achieve short- and long-term goals
  • Driving cross-functional, business-critical projects that enable or deliver cost savings using Lean tools (A3, PDCA, 5S, SMED, VSM, RCA, etc.)
  • Facilitating the policy deployment process (Hoshin Kanri) with the Plant Management Team to set vision, mission, and strategic objectives
  • Develop project management & cost optimization governance in the plant, train and support project leaders to progress the projects by considering minimum project requirements
  • Leading problem-solving sessions, training, and coaching teams in effective root cause analysis
  • Examine data sets from Manufacturing Execution & Quality Systems in order to find trends and draw conclusions about the information they contain by using statistical tools
  • Managing the plant best practices program, benchmarking internally and externally, and rolling out successful initiatives
  • Designing and delivering Lean training programs for cross-functional teams, ensuring continuous development and application of Lean principles

 

What We Are Looking For?

 

  • University degree in Science, Engineering, or Business
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment recognized for Lean maturity (e.g., automotive, FMCG)
  • Proven track record of leading Lean projects with measurable results
  • Strong understanding of Lean systems, tools, and methodologies
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and data analysis; Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) or Lean CI certification is an advantage.
  • Strong project management and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Power BI, SAP, MES, or CMMS is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities, able to engage effectively at all organizational levels and embrace Ball’s core values
  • Understand complex documentation, with the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines
  • A collaborative change agent with a “can do” attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Danish and English required
