Ball Metal Beverage Container Corporation, Fort Worth Can Plant, has an immediate need for a regular, full-time Industrial Electrician.  Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting all electrical systems for both production equipment and support areas in the facility.


What will your average week look like?

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, problem solving, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a timely manner.


  • Troubleshoot high-speed, industrial process equipment used to manufacture aluminum cans, utilizing basic electrical and programmable logic controllers as well as their support equipment systems
  • Troubleshoots all electrical equipment used in the plant.
  • Provide support to the Production Group by trouble shooting non-electrical problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify inefficiencies and potential electrical problems while maintaining daily logbooks, drawings and records.
  • Follow job safety practices, policies, and procedures for safe performance of assignments.
  • Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, FR and Arc Flash rated clothing and safety footwear.
  • May use forklift or aero lift, prior training for each will be provided.
  • Work a 12-hour rotating shift; 4 on / 3 off and 3 on / 4 off.  Entry positions are nights only, based on seniority.


What are we looking for?


  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ job-related experience
  • Computer literate
  • Any of the following or a combination of each. Supporting documentation will be required.
    • Two-year degree in Electronic Engineering or Electronics
    • Two-year degree in Industrial Technology
    • Completion of four/five year electrical apprenticeship program
    • Completion of PLC courses
      • Allen-Bradley
      • Community College 
  • Hands on experience with Power, Lighting and Motor Control Circuitry; 480/277VAC, 120VAC and 24VDC
  • PLC programming experience or the ability to utilize PLC logic in order to trouble shoot equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lock Out tag Out procedures.
  • Follow EHS procedures including maintaining compliance to certification requirements and use appropriate PPE for each assigned task; make recommendations to improve ergonomics, health and safety of work.
  • Familiarity with the NFPA70E requirements for Arc Flash and Safe Electrical Work Practices.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment.




Preferred Qualifications


  • Display competency to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in a neat and professional manner.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment, solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.



Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Hourly Rate: 31.66
  • Job Grade:  Production on Pay Scale  
  • Other Compensation:   This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
