Primary Purpose of the Position:

Performs tasks and provides support to the plant storeroom function as directed.

 

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
  • Responsible for overall storeroom operation including cycle counts, and bulk inventories of equipment/prime movers/storeroom items as required.
  • Inputs and maintains computer inventory system and master file data system to assure accurate storeroom inventory.
  • Coordinates with all areas in the initial set-up of new storeroom parts, the modification and/or substitution of existing parts, and the deletion of storeroom parts, overstock, and surplus parts.
  • Communicate discrepancies with vendors/suppliers/manufacturers and correct them in a timely manner.
  • Generates computer reports weekly on all receipts and disbursements.
  • Properly packs and processes items for outgoing shipment for common carrier; prepares miscellaneous shipping orders, airfreight bills, and/or bills of lading.
  • Responsible for overall storeroom operation. Orders parts, receives and inspects all incoming items for plant departments, and ensures proper placement of storeroom items in storage cell where items are maintained for use.
  • Works with vendors concerning consignment program and setting up blanket orders.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and organization in the storeroom and related areas.
  • Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.

 

Position Requirement & Competencies:

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
  • Job Related experience for 2 year(s) Minimum
  • Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard storeroom techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Ability to effectively train personnel.
  • Ability to effectively lead personnel.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
  • Ability to operate fork lift or willingness to learn.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
  • Sr. Engineer Technician Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas:
    • Nomenclature of all storeroom items.
    • Storeroom principles and practices
  • Works in both office and manufacturing environments
  • This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
  • Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:  $54,800, - $72,810  (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • Onsite Work Environment: This position is based in Ft. Worth, TX and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
