Our Shift Electrician is responsible for repairing the production, and auxiliary machines resulting from a breakdown. Identify improvements to achieve increased efficiency and reduce waste (downtime and can loss). Support shift managers to resolve breakdown occurrences and complete tasks as set by the engineering leadership/specialist team, inclusive of the completion of level 1 PPM program.



  • Observe / adhere company health and safety regulations at all times
  • Carry out any mechanical (challenge) / electrical repairs (Bias) required by engineering team, and/or shift manager
  • Identify early fault detection, quality defect systems and maintain effectivness through zonal ownership
  • Complete tasks as set by the matrix manager (proactive / reactive lead)
  • Support and guide mechanical technical team to develop there engineering skills
  • Action any problems with production machines likely to affect production, or machines defects likely to make the machine unsafe to work.
  • Support the development of autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators knowledge and know how. Updating Operation standards for continuity and standardisation
  • Efficiently carry out the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) to company standards
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes & machines
  • Own project themes as determined by the engineering manager/leadership group (SMART)
  • Innovative machine set up / modifications to make better
  • Hand over to the on-coming maintenance engineer and inform him/her of the state of the lines and of any in progress repairs
  • Minimise waste by adopting lean principles and maintain a clean and tidy work ethic.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with Ball requirements.
  • To adhere to ISO/BRC requirements.

  • Return tools, parts and other equipment to appropriate storage locations
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a tidy and functional state at all time, ensuring all are fit for purpose.


  • Perform all tasks relating to operating  and maintaining production machines
  • Continually seek to optimise production output and quality by way of responding to machine and process electrical and mechanical problems and taking appropriate action


This is a shift working position which includes days, nights and weekends on a rotating basis.

  • Week 1 is working (12 hour shifts) Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2 is working Wednesday, Thursday


You will work 6am - 6pm on days and 6pm - 6am on nights. You will work 4 weeks on days and 4 weeks on nights.
