Position overview:

As the Production Team Leader you are a key member of the Production team, reporting to the Shift Manager. You will contribute to the success of Ball by being on line support for production members in fault finding efficiency losses/waste or quality issues, and advicing and guiding to the right resolution whilst training team members with basic fault finding skills such as fishbone/5y. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

•    To ensure environmental, health and safety working practices are followed at all times. 

•    To ensure that quality standards including BRC are met and remedial action taken where necessary. 

•    To support the shift manager and colleagues to achieve high motivation and productivity through consistent positive leadership.

•    To ensure efficiency (OEE) and spoilage (MOD) targets are met. 

•    To ensure efficient material usage in order to minimise costs, and support areas of high waste to reduce wasted product.

•    To support process improvement ideas within the manufacturing process and form teams to work in confuction on improvement projects 

•    To mobilise and deploy production and other staff in the event of breakdowns, quality issues and other emergencies, including hands-on attendance to breakdowns where necessary. 

•    To support the shift manager in identifying  performance and development of production staff, including identifying training needs, coaching and promoting teamwork.  

•    To provide absence cover for the shift manager when required.

•    To participate in and support the Management team and colleagues in Continuous Improvements projects.

 

Experience and skills required:

•    3 years experience in a similar role

•    5s/problem solving tools such as fishbone  

•    Six sigma

•    Microsoft Office especially Excel

 

This role will be working a rotating Shift Pattern of 12 hour shifts (4 weeks on days 6am - 6pm - 4 weeks on nights 6pm - 6am)

Week 1 work days are  Monday / Tuesday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday

Week 2 work days are Wednesday / Thursday

 

Starting Salary £36k - £38k plus 22.5% Shift premium depending on experience
