Position overview:

As the Plant Finance Manager, you are a key member of the senior management teams for two local manufacturing plants, reporting to the Production Group Finance Manager.

You will contribute to the success of Ball by providing strong financial leadership and high-impact business partnership to plant Operations teams—driving financial value, improving EVA performance, and enabling operational decision-making through insightful forecasting, planning, and performance management.

This role focuses on commercial and operational finance leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, capital tracking, and KPI performance reviews. You will collaborate closely with the Accounting / GBS teams, who perform the accounting close and transactions, ensuring effective alignment between operations and financial governance.

Please note that this role can be based in Ejpovice or Plsen. You are expected to be able to regularly visit both plants so please take this into consideration when submitting your application.

We can only consider candidates with existing right to work in the country where the position is located.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted business partner to plant leadership teams, driving value and decision-making through EVA performance improvement
  • Monitoring and tracking monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial KPIs, conducting performance reviews with plant leadership
  • Analyzing month-end results and communicating insights clearly to both Operations and regional Finance teams using standardized Ball Operational Excellence routines
  • Leading the annual operating plan (AOP) development for plant spending forecasts—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with standardized formats
  • Leading quarterly forecast refresh cycles (3+9, 6+6, 9+3), coordinating cross-functional inputs and ensuring robust financial assumptions
  • Delivering mid-month POV forecasts to drive proactive action planning and near-term visibility for plant management and regional finance leadership
  • Managing capital budgets and investment governance, including project control, reporting, and full lifecycle oversight of AFE proposals (from creation to capitalization and closure)
  • Supporting regional and plant initiatives to improve EVA performance and standardize finance processes across the network
  • Building financial acumen across non-finance teams by coaching on “how the business runs,” how Ball creates value, and how daily decisions impact EVA
  • Partnering with Accounting/GBS teams to ensure strong controllership education and alignment across plant finance routines

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field (CMA/CPA is preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Finance, Operations Finance, FP&A, or manufacturing controlling
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with ability to challenge and partner effectively with plant leadership
  • Solid knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and financial modelling
  • Working knowledge of EVA and manufacturing standard costing is highly desirable
  • Strong systems capability including advanced Excel, and experience with ERP tools such as SAP/JDE, and Hyperion Essbase (or similar)
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills, able to manage multiple deliverables across two manufacturing sites
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a matrix environment
  • Fluency in English required
