a) Toolroom Responsibility: 100% time

b) 1st Line Maintenance: as needed.

•            Repair / Refurbishing of Punches / Dies in Tool room. Ensure Proper availability of tools in ongoing basis.

•            Repair / Setting of trimmer Cartridges. Ensure availability of Trimmer Cartridges on ongoing basis.

•            Order annual requirement of BM Dies / punches / Trimmer cutters / Cupper Tool sets / Necker tooling. Forecast need for Tools and order accordingly. Stock control, usage control of all tools.

•            Ensure tools on shop floor are according to drawings on Manspec. Responsible for ordering new tools according to Manspec. Phase out the non-standard tooling in a systematic manner.

•            Cupper tools such as Blank and draw die, draw pad, cut edge, die center Preparing these tools for conversion, regrinding and polishing

•            Belvac Necker tools knowledge, preparing and changing when needed

•            Track life of Tooling in TCS System. Train People on using of TCS system

•            Closely Co-ordinate with Front end Area leader in tooling issues.

•            Provide Final drawing to Tooling suppliers / Provide dimensions needed.

•            Track consumption of tooling. Meet the tooling Yearly budget. Troubleshoot tooling issues with Front end area leader. Create Monthly tooling consumption reports, make analysis and circulate report for broken tooling

•            Area owner for housekeeping / 5’s for tool room. And Tools Storage room. Maintain housekeeping to the standard defined in the Housekeeping and Hygiene procedure.

•            Lead improvements in tooling in line with other Rexam Plants.

•            Front End area Team Member: attend ongoing meetings and feedback

•            Tool room Equipment owner. Ongoing maintenance of Tool room Machines and measurement equipment.

•            Follow up / Track the External grinding work for punches sent abroad for grinding.

•            To follow and maintain organization’s SOPs and safe working practices.

•            Comply with any legal, environmental and safety , BRC requirements and/or checks

•            To actively participate in companies Continuous Improvement initiatives e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SMED, 5 S, ISO, etc..,

•            To conduct lean manufacturing activities and participate in audits as per company requirements.

•            To meet  KPI of various BCAMEA strategy Balance Score Card and always look for improvement in it

•            Help to maximize production and minimize spoilage during the manufacturing process.

 

CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

•            'Diploma in Tool and Die Making preferably from CITD / GTTC or NTTF

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

•           6 to 10 Years Tool and Die making experience in an automobile ancillary / die manufacturing.

•            Experience in CNC Machine programming, CNC Grinding machines.

•            Successful track record in mechanical tool room work and mechanical maintenance.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

•            Computer literacy and the ability to generate reports.

•            Experience in Finite Element Analysis

•            Proficiency in AutoCAD – Mechanical. Ability to read, understand and develop engineering drawings

•            Analytical skills to interpret numerical data.

•            Excellent Presentation skills, Lead Meetings.

•            Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practises.

•            A machine maintenance background in a high speed, high volume continuous process.

LANGUAGES REQUIRED

Fluent in Written / Verbal English.

Local languages.
