We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical/Automation Technician (IET)  for  our Bowling Green, KY location.     The Industrial Electrical/Automation Technicians are  responsible for troubleshooting, problem solving, repairing, and maintaining production equipment in a timely manner and working within Ball’s established safety practices and policies.     


Our plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment.   IET’s  will be assigned to a specific crew and will  work 12 ¼ hour shifts (5:45am-6pm or 5:45pm-6am)  working 3 days on/3 days off and rotate from day to night shift every 6 weeks.    


What Will You Do? 


  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain high-speed, industrial process aluminum can end- making equipment (i.e., power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment) which will include all electrical power (24 to 600 volts), automation controllers, VFDs, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices and support building and facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming, identify inefficiencies and potential electrical problems, design process improvements  and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance; coordinate through supervisor to implement.   
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and correct through field measurements and programmable logic control software. Maintain effective documentation through review of and entries to daily log books, updates to wiring schematics (paper and/or Auto-CAD), and computer program change forms, (whether maintained on paper or Microsoft Office  formats).
  • Participate in shift turnover meetings, work on other projects as requested by Engineering Manager and other skilled trade supervisors.
  • Train and mentor other production personnel on proper usage repair of equipment. 
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department,  the plant and across the company; including ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment.


Basic Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and self-motivation to seek out additional projects or learning opportunities. 
  • Demonstrated professional ethical integrity to observe  company policies, processes and safety protocols.  


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Electro-Mechanical Technology Degree .
  • Proficiency with Rockwell PLC and/or Allen- Bradley.
  • 3 or more years of HMI programming experience.
  • Experience with robotic systems (such as Kuka, Fanuc or other similar equipment).
  • Training, mentorship or supervisory experience.



Compensation & Benefits

- HOURLY RATE: $43.39 (OT eligible)
