Position overview: 

The role forms part of two local manufacturing plants senior management teams and will contribute by delivering highly effective business partnership to our Operations team.  In doing so, this role will drive financial value in our operating costs being our future fuel for growth. All of the referenced responsibilities below relate to two manufacturing plants that this role will be responsible for supporting.

Please note that this role can be based in Bierne or Mont. You are expected to be able to regularly visit both plants so please take this into consideration when submitting your application.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acts as a trusted business partner to the manufacturing plant leadership teams to support decision making and driving financial value in the form of EVA performance improvement.
  • In support of the above - monitor and tracks monthly, quarterly and YTD financial related KPI performance and conduct monthly business performance reviews with manufacturing plant management teams.
  • Analyse the month end financial close results and communicate results to the manufacturing plant operations teams (via standardized Ball Operational Excellence routines) and to the regional finance teams effectively, accurately and timely in standardized formats.  
  • Leads the local development cross functionally of the manufacturing plant spending forecasts for annual operating plan cycle (AOP) efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats.
  • Leads the local refresh cross functionally of the manufacturing plant spending forecasts for the quarterly refresh of the annual operating plan cycle (3+9, 6+6 & 9+3) efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats.
  • Leads the development of an “in month” monthly refresh of financial forecasts for the manufacturing plant (often referred to as the POV) efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats.  This serves to drive action and understanding within the manufacturing plant senior management team, but also inform regional financial leadership of financial expectations in the near term.
  • Management of local capital budgets, project control and reporting, including all local investment proposals (AFE’s)– cradle to grave oversight from AFE creation to timely asset capitalization and project closure.
  • Support finance led regional, manufacturing plant based or otherwise initiatives to drive EVA performance improvement and standardization of processes.
  • Support non finance teams education at the manufacturing plant to build strong finance and business acumen around the key principles of how the business run, how we make money and how they can impact EVA each and every day.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred
  • CMA or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of finance and forecasting principles; general business principles; legal and accounting practices; Economic Value Added (EVA); manufacturing standard costing; financial modeling; and generally accepted managerial practices and procedures
  • Experience with systems preferred, including Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP, JDE, etc.), and Hyperion Essbase (or equivalent tools)
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Systems literate with strong Excel capabilities
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize effectively
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
