Position overview:


Working closely with the other department managers, and under the supervision of the plant manager, the CI manager is in charge of driving continuous improvement and help achieve or exceed plant QCD targets; will be actively taking part to the daily production, projects, training and Coaching activities; will lead and promote a lean mindset and contribute to update and improve the plant management system.



Key responsibilities include:


  • Identify sources of waste and build plant improvement plan

  • Lead and drive continuous improvement activities :

    • quick “blitz” type activities

    • improvement projects (organizational changes, machines redesign, invest…)

    • problem solving activities (8D, QRCI…)

  • Take part in improving a plant integrated management system that promotes plants QCD objectives, driving it down to shop floor level in a pragmatic and sustainable way

  • Liaise with company continuous improvement network to benchmark best practices and roll out in the plant

  • Implement appropriate lean tools to sustain performance (routines, TQM, TPM…)

  • Coach and train plant employees on lean concepts

  • Foster Kaizen state of mind

  • Oversee plant technical training program

  • Continuously report results and progress to company management (plant and central)

  • Close cooperation and support to the engineering manager


Experience required:


  • Technical College / University education or equivalent

  • Master of Science in Engineering desirable, but not mandatory

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a manufacturing company known for its maturity in lean management (automotive,  FMCG…)

  • Good understanding of LEAN tools and system.

  • Structured problem solving (8D QRCI…)

  • Solid broad engineering knowledge (mechanical, electrical) and desire to learn

  • Good understanding of statistical process control

  • Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Pragmatic and shop floor oriented

  • Experience in managing a team (preferably in production)

  • Very good knowledge of English language
