Position overview:

As the Printer Specialist, you’re a key member of a team of Process experts. You will contribute to the success of Ball by supporting predominantly New Build, New Line, and Line Conversion start-up performance in Decorator/Printer areas.  Your responsibility will predominantly be driven by achieving  Efficiency, Spoilage, and environmental compliance in the first instance, with secondary responsibility for other KPIs such as Material usage, Production Supplies, and utility usage optimizations as appropriate to the area of expertise.  

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Efficiency and Spoilage for all New Build, New Line and Line Conversions start-ups as per the agreed start-up curves
  • Responsibility for the Deco area leading the overall start-up performance.
  • Training of site personnel in Process understanding and performance as required.
  • Emergency Breakdown support.
  • Size Conversion support
  • Identification of Best Practice opportunities.

 

 

Knowledge and experience required:

 

  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification/or Minimum 5yrs experience on Concorde or Rutherford Deco/Printer in Can Manufacturing.
  • Training/teaching qualification to minimum Train The Trainer.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of operating in Can manufacturing.
  • Basics of Lean experience would be preferable
  • Strong knowledge of the full Can making process.
  • Ability to transfer Can making process knowledge to others.
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region
