Job Summary :
- To work in a shift as part of quality dept. in the manufacturing area. To safely operate and maintain quality lab instruments and equipment in such a way as to meet the production requirements with a product that meets the quality criteria
- The main duties depend upon the area of incoming, in-process and final inspection in which he is assigned works including but not limited to
- Process and equipment’s in the Front End area
- Process and Equipment in Backend Area
- Finished pallet inspection/testing.
- All process, equipment’s and parameters in the plant
- Visit to customers to attend quality complaints, rework, sorting etc..
Key Responsibilities :
- To follow and maintain organization’s SOPs and safe working practices.
- Comply with any legal, environmental and safety , BRC requirements and/or checks
- To actively participate in companies Continuous Improvement initiatives e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SMED, 5 S, ISO, etc..,
- To conduct lean manufacturing activities and participate in audits as per company requirements.
- To meet KPI of various BCAMEA strategy Balance Score Card and always look for improvement in it
- Maintain housekeeping to the standard defined in the Housekeeping and Hygiene procedure.
- Help to maximize production and minimize spoilage during the manufacturing process.
- Ensuring that the quality control of incoming materials, during all production, manufacturing, and packaging are to company and/or customer requirements
- Taking actions, organizing people and working with production and maintenance for reducing HFI spoilage to a minimum and ensure that no sub-standard goods are dispatched to the customer
- To use and improve existing process control, HFI analysis, product verification and all subsequent operations used during manufacture
- To interpret results and present conclusions to production personnel and management highlighting attributes which are "out of" or "moving out of" specification and the resultant problems on the finished product or for the customer
- To Co-ordinate, train personnel in all facets of inspection, including instruments, gauges and charts, used in the execution of their jobs.
- To have direct responsibility for standards verification and acceptance or rejection of the cans being manufactured
- To ensure that all can production is within established requirements in respect of structure and cleanliness
- To ensure no can dispatches are made to customers which are below the acceptable standard, both from the aspect of product integrity or packaging
- Liase with suppliers regarding HFI materials, ensuring full credit.
- To promote quality improvement and preventative actions
- To promote quality improvement and preventative actions by involvement in continuous improvement activities to meet the key performance objectives and targets
- Responsible for food safety standard implementation ( As per BRC std)
Educational Qualification, Experience and Skills Required :
- ITI / Diploma with 4-5 years of experience
- Additional qualification in ISO, QMS, 6 Sigma will of help
- A manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process
- Successful track record in Quality related work
- Understanding & experience of working to External Quality/Environmental Standards i.e. ISO 9001:2000 / 14001
- Understanding of modern lean manufacture technique - SMED, Kaizen 5S, Kanban, Structured Problem Solving, TPM/OEE, SPC, 6 Sigma etc.
- Good computer skills – ability to manage via computerized data
- BRC/Food Safety knowledge
