Job Summary

  • To ensure the efficient operation of the equipment’s in the assigned area.
  • To ensure regular AM /PM is carried out for all equipment’s in  the assigned area.
  • To provide technical support & guidance to operators in case of breakdown/issues.
  • To ensure that the operators in the area are suggesting Kaizens, safety suggestions.
  • To ensure that 5s is maintained in the assigned area and drive initiatives in achieving this.
  • To support team leader/shift manager to deliver the assigned KPIs.

 

Responsibilities

  • To follow and maintain organization’s SOPs and safe working practices.
  • Comply with any legal, environmental and safety , FSSC requirements and/or checks
  • Lead the assigned area in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors.
  • To actively participate in companies Continuous Improvement initiatives e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SMED, 5 S, ISO, etc..,
  • Focused on identifying opportunities to continue improvements.
  • To conduct lean manufacturing activities and participate in audits as per company requirements.
  • To monitor the KPI’s and always look for improvement in it
  • Maintain housekeeping to the standard defined in the Housekeeping and Hygiene procedure.
  • Maintain raport with team and identify training needs for the team. Provide extensive training to employees to improve skill levels.
  • Meet Production, Quality, Spoilage and environmental improvement targets as set by the Shift Manager, the Continuous Improvement teams and the Plant budget.
  • Investigate/Report equipment/process defects/HFI promptly and use the team and outside assistance to identify and undertake corrective action to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the team to minimise the costs in the Plant.
  • Liase with the engineering department to ensure all maintenance work is completed to their satisfaction and continually look for methods to reduce breakdowns. World class manufacturing status is the ultimate goal.
  • Ensure standardisation of equipment setting and operation to achieve the required specification and product quality.
  • Set up effective communication links with the area specialists on the other shifts. Co-ordinate actions to effectively utilise downtime.
  • Ensure effective use of materials, identify programmes to improve usage and minimise waste.
  • Manufacture cans to production plan within H & S, quality, efficiency and budget requirements.
  • Ensure corrective action is taken, as required, for all equipment in assigned area and operational problems/potential problems to continuously improve the operation.
  • Available on short notice and as and when necessary.
  • Ensure that the machines are operated without any stoppages in case of shortage of manpower.
  • Take full responsibility of both decorators in terms of label change time, spoilage, trouble shooting  and PM.
  • Ensure the on time and quality size conversions.
  • Lead other deco operators to achieve set targets in decorator area including 5s and Hygiene

 

Educational requirement

  • Diploma in Printing / Mechanical engineering / ITI / Can manufacturing experience & expertise in specific assigned area equipment’s.

Previous Experience

  • A manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process
  •  Successful track record of expertise in all machines of assigned area

Skills & Competencies

  • Good  communication.
  • Good computer skills – ability to manage via computerised data
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
  • A manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process
