Position overview: 

The Manufacturing Excellence Specialist position is the catalyst for continuous improvement projects and activities throughout the plant to deliver the annual targets and to deploy and sustain the Ball Manufacturing Excellence management system.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for BME (Ball Manufacturing Excellence) self-assessment and improvement plan execution embedding standards in Operations way of working as per BME intent
• Develop and maintain a Plant Manufacturing Excellence Master plan that supports the delivery of the short and long term objectives of the business
• Lead business critical cross functional projects that either enable or directly deliver FFG (Fuel for growth) savings in the respective cost categories utilizing specified minimum project requirements
• Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement activities by using Lean tools and techniques (VSM, 5S, SMED, PDCA, TPM, Problem Solving Techniques, ...) to improve & sustain performance
• Act as a change agent for the business and Coach at all levels using GROW coaching techniques
• Lead problem solving projects by training, coaching and facilitating teams to perform effective root cause analysis method
• Examine data sets from Manufacturing Execution & Quality Systems in order to find trends and draw conclusions about the information they contain by using statistical tools
• Manage plant better practices program, liaise with company continuous improvement network for both benchmarking internal and external best practices and roll out in the plant
• Manage Plant Manufacturing Excellence capital hopper ensuring pipeline of projects up to date with relevant information to allow the project to proceed if selected as a priority

What are we looking for?

• University degree education in Science, Engineering or Business (Desirable)
• At least 3 years of relevant experience with a manufacturing industry
• Good understanding of LEAN tools and system, demonstrated portfolio of leading lean project management at least 3 years
• Good understanding of statistical process control and data analysis, Six Sigma Green Belt (Essential) or Black Belt Certified (Desirable)
• Desirable the experience of advanced statistical tools use (e.g. DOE, ANOVA) in some Six Sigma projects.
• Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, constantly seeing to understand how to engage and involve different individuals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Computer literate (MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
