New/Modified Ball Products / New customer / New line/New components :

  • Provide technical support to the Sales and Manufacturing functions connected with beverage customers
  • Provide a comprehensive technical service and support to personal care customers
    • Along with Global R&D Manager, Innovation Director and Ball Beverage CTS/Quality team decide what trials are required, filling line trials or test packs, bench tests. Inform the relevant Ball Manufacturing site in order to set appropriate prod. spec ( master data )   
    • Co-ordinate with customer/allocated contacts to ensure that trial bottles of the correct quantity/specification are available.
    • Co-ordinate and implement filling line trials on customer sites to evaluate new/modified customer products being filled in Ball components
    • Arrange for trial at customer location and carry out the same
    • Report the results of the trial to relevant contacts within Ball
    • Find new closures suppliers and manage the qualification steps.
    • Advise customers the right capper settings to guarantee the performances of the closures.


Bottles development:


    • Support the R&D team during the development and industrialization of the new bottles:  carry out trials and analyse data and potential issues.
    • Propose some technical solutions to solve the technical issues.
    • Validate the bottles parameters in terms of filling performances
    • Deploy the bottles technology within Ball Aerosol division.


Customer Specifications:

    • Along with Ball Group Quality, review any new/modified customer specification
    • Liaise with customer in order to provide a mutually acceptable specification
    • When specification is finalised, ensure that it is communicated procedurally within Ball




Evaluation of customer products:

    • Co-ordinate with customer and Ball Manufacturing to ensure test bottles of the correct quantity/specification are available.
    • Arrange for filling at customer location and where necessary, assist with its completion
    • Organise shipment/evaluation of filled stock at laboratory for PCT tests.
    • When supplied results of evaluation, make recommendations on how the results should be progressed with the relevant customer


Evaluation of customer production equipment:

    • Audit customer filling facilities/warehouses for problems which may result in reduction in filling speed, damage to bottles.
    • Examine customer & Ball filling facilities/warehouses to determine areas of enhancement. Perform regular audit as per Ball procedure (with the support of the quality team.)
    • Advise customer of findings/recommendations on improvements, supplying costing for work involved, when required.
    • Assist in set up of customer equipment
    • Train customer on GMP, corrosion, bottles handling


Bottles quality issues:

    • Contact customer regarding quality issues, visiting the customer where required
    • Support the quality team during the review complaint with Ball manufacturing plant and/or customer
    • Be able to assist and co-operate with the customer on order to provide a troubleshooting activity and define the root cause of the problem.
    • Use of six sigma, statistic basic tools required .
