Position overview:


Reporting to the Manufacturing Director Ball Aerosol Packaging Europe & India, the Bellegarde Plant Manager will take the lead in driving site strategy, providing ‘fresh thinking’, and a continuous improvement approach, focusing on optimizing the performance of the plant, improving fi-nancial KPIs, and delivering best-in-class levels of quality, productivity and operational efficien-cy, whilst driving a strong health & safety culture. Through exceptional communication ability, highly visible leadership and customer focus, the Plant Manager will develop, motivate and empower the workforce through a management team across Operations, Quality, Financial Control, HR, Engineering & Maintenance and Supply Chain functions.  


Key responsibilities include:


  • Ensure compliance with all EHS standards and applicable legislation

  • Develop and implement safety-driven projects 

  • Provide for a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in the EHS behavior across the plant

  • Lead and manage plant management team to effectively deliver all Plant targets/WIGs

  • Deliver the operational action plan results with focus on OEE, Energy saving, product quality and cost control.

  • Oversee the optimization and continous improvement action plans needed to support the Ball Aerocan strategy and industry best practice 

  • Seek synergies and cooperate with other plants in benchmarking and optimization

  • In conjunction with Financial Controller, prepare and deliver annual plant Budgets

  • Prepare for and plan all plant Capital expendiure 

  • In conjunction with Financial Controller, prepare and deliver monthly Business Reviews 

  • Drive people development and develop a culture of knowledge sharing 

  • Conduct negotiations and foster constructive working relationships with the trade unions 

  • Ensure compliance to locally applicable Employment Law 


Experience required:


  • Engineering/technical or other relevant business degree (management, business administration etc.)

  • Relevant working experience in a people leadership role within a high volume, progressive manufacturing environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel)
