Primary Purpose of this Position:

 

Produces Declarations of Compliance that are "proof to the market" that Ball packaging products meet local, regional, and global regulations and chemical laws. Produce strategic decision support for the business based on the analysis of risks from emerging chemical regulations that can impact the selection of raw materials like coatings. Maintains regulatory and customer requirements applicable to the region and provides evaluation and guidance in; compliance, risk assessment, mitigation actions and records. Primary liaison with internal/external parties relative to food safety product information, data or certification. Provides input and support to internal procedures/checklists, supplier requirements, and third party audits. Reviews product innovation requirements, change management impacts and serves as focal point with industry teams.  Works cross functionally with commercial, and global peers for standardization and cross seeding of information.

 

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Produces regulatory Declarations of Compliance using Food Chain ID software (or comparable) including but not limited to: allergen letter, food contact certifications, declarations of compliance, and letters of guarantee.
  • Serve as focal point for all region regulatory requirements including currency of applicable standards and regulations, assessment and communication of changes and compliance implementation.
  • Responds in a timely was to urgent requests from customers, Commercial, and CTS for regulatory compliance information and documentation; Typically there are multiple urgent requests per week.
  • Work with peer Food Safety and Regulatory Specialists for cross functional support based on business needs
  • Conducts strategic analysis of emerging regulations using information from multiple sources including Food Chain ID Software, (or comparable) online searches for legislative documents, and meeting with Suppliers. Synthesizes this information and reports out to key internal leaders in Procurement, Quality, Sustainability, Innovation, and Operations functions.
  • Maintains customer requirement library and serves as customer interface for requirement approval.
  • Maintains supplier requirement library including but not limited to: certification documents, CoA’s, CoC’s.
  • Focal point for industry team(s) such as Metal Packaging Europe
  • Serve as auditor for all quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Corporate Quality and Regulatory Management Program in region/plants in alignment with peer regions and global with standardization through BOE.
  • Support plants, quality, and commercial with standardization associated with inquiries from customers relative to regulatory approvals and documentation including providing compliance evidence.
  • When possible establish standardized declarations/statements which demonstrate compliance for the region/global and maintain for customer access.  When individual customer requests are made provide information with support of commercial/quality in alignment with the requisite standards.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Related field, Business or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quality or quality related environment with regulatory and compliance management
  • Regulatory management, program development, execution, and auditing

 

 

Working Knowledge of the following Areas:

  • ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ Quality Engineer certification preferred
  • Engineering principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures, quality assurance principles, and the manufacturing process.
  • Personal care and Household Packaging Manufacturing
  • Food Packaging Manufacturing
  • Pharmaceutical Packaging
