Position overview: 

 

The Reprographics PrePress Specialist is responsible for the reproduction, preparation, validation and quality assurance of customer artwork files for the dry offset can printing process, including complex and high impact designs.  The role supports the EMEA reprographics prepress studio by ensuring that graphic files meet internal specifications, print standards, and customer requirements, while also contributing to process improvement, reporting, training, and the integration of new reprographics solutions and innovations across the region.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Perform feasibility and preflight checks on all design orders entering the EMEA repro prepress studio, including complex designs.
  • Reproduce customer artwork files for production using approved graphics software and workflows (Adobe and Esko).
  • Prepare complete, production-ready graphics file packages with optimal spot color separations, trapping, and gapping for dry offset printing.
  • Work on highly complex designs within predefined workflows, applying advanced technical judgment while operating with limited decision-making freedom.
  • Ensure all artworks adhere to internal graphics guidelines, Ball print specifications, and Graphics Administration briefs.
  • Maintain consistent and high-quality quality control (QC) on own work and the work of others across all stages of the graphics workflow.
  • Ensure high-quality outputs and quality checks of files supplied by customer agencies.
  • Ensure file quality across all proofing stages (production, wet proofing, and digital proofing).
  • Register and invoice all tasks in Esmart (bespoke artwork management system).
  • Provide operational and advanced technical support to the EMEA reprographics studio.
  • Support customer artwork feasibility checks across all EMEA regions, including complex and time-critical projects.
  • Communicate with regional stakeholders to define deliverables, manage expectations, and meet required lead times.
  • Collaborate closely with EMEA plants and the central Graphics department to ensure consistent file quality, workflow alignment, and process stability across the region. · Act as a technical reference point within the region for complex reprographics-related topics.

 

What are we looking for? 

 

  • University degree in Graphics Technology, Graphic Design, or a related graphics-oriented field. Alternatively, substantial professional experience in printing, packaging, prepress, production, or design may be considered.
  • Proven experience in a reprographics or prepress role within an industrial printing or packaging environment.
  • Strong expertise in complex prepress preparation, including spot color separation optimization, trapping, and gapping.
  • Proficient and confident use of graphics software and workflows (Adobe and/or Esko).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to reprographics and print feasibility.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate approvals, deadlines, training, and quality checks.
  • Fluent in English (spoken, read, written).
