Position overview:

 

As the Commercial Finance Analyst, you’re a key member of the Finance team, reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager.

You will contribute to the success of Ball by delivering accurate, insightful, and timely financial analysis to support commercial decision-making. This role partners closely with the Commercial Finance and Sales teams to develop pricing strategies, evaluate customer contracts, and ensure financial alignment with business objectives.

You’ll also play an important role in maintaining and improving financial models and tools, supporting both global key accounts and regional customers, and ensuring pricing compliance across the region.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Compiling accurate and timely pricing and profitability analyses (CAF and related models) to support sales and commercial contract negotiations.
  • Partnering with the Commercial Finance Managers and Sales teams to develop pricing strategies and proposals based on financial, market, and competitive insights.
  • Supporting financial forecasting and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) pricing processes for assigned accounts.
  • Monitoring regional pricing trends and ensuring compliance with contractual terms, including Most Favoured Nation (MFN) clauses.
  • Administering and updating data models used by the Commercial Finance team for pricing, margin, and contract analysis.
  • Supporting the administration of metal pricing agreements, settlements, and customer hedging processes.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to deliver consistent, accurate, and strategic commercial insights.
  • Delivering ad hoc financial analysis and project support as required.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (professional finance qualification is an advantage).
  • Experience in a complex FMCG or manufacturing B2B environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to manage and interpret large data sets.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills and experience with SAP, QlikView, or similar systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
  • Action-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; another European language is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
